For your body, mind and spirit, plant foods as whole and unrefined as possible are the best foods for nourishing your body. Aim to build your diet around fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. The ideal liquid for your body and also your mind is water. Did you know that your brain functions best when well hydrated? Your brain is about 75% water, and a lack of it impairs its function. Your brain also benefits from special nutrients such as tryptophan, omega three and folate. Crushed, flaxseeds and chia seeds are good sources of tryptophan and omega three free, while legumes, whole grains and leafy green vegetables are good sources of folate. How do you nourish your spirit? Read something inspirational that will feed your soul. Also, offer someone a compliment. It will nourish them as well as yourself.
